The Challenge

Since 1982, MHI has built several Waste-to-Energy (WtE) plants which are connected to the national power grid in Singapore. MHI understands the importance of reliable backup power to provide the necessary protection to human, machinery and systems when national power grid fails to provide power.

To enhance the plant safety during national power grid failure, Denyo generator with SmartRMS system is added to the existing plant installation to ensure that the power supply to building services (eg. lifts, fire alarms system, etc.) operate with little interruption.

The Denyo Solution

MHI approached Denyo to supply Denyo SmartRMS technology in order to better manage the energy provision to building services. In view of the current power complexity that has been built within the WtE plant, MHI has specifically outlined one crucial requirement to Denyo – the newly added power system shall not interfere with or jeopardize the power system that is currently installed in-place. Denyo has proposed a proven semi-auto system that is specially customised to meet the requirement. In addition, in order to better enhance the system’s monitoring flow and improve the new power system reliability, numerous technical discussions were held with MHI to determine the best signal feedback protocol to the main control system so that the commands and signals can be exchanged securely.

Result

Following the command and control philosophy established by Denyo, full testing and commissioning have been carried out at Denyo facilities with zero failure. Denyo also follow up by providing full sales support after the completion of this project.

With the addition of Denyo generator with SmartRMS system, MHI is satisfied with the outstanding services from the Denyo team.
