Celebrating The Past, Building For The Future: An Interview With One Of Denyo’s New Generation – Part 4

We continue with our series of highlighting a new wave of personnel – young and dynamic trailblazers who have joined the company in recent years, determined to make a difference and shoulder the responsibility of bringing Denyo to even greater heights.

This week, we bring the attention to our Sales Engineering department, instrumental in coming up with innovative new solutions – such as Remote Monitoring System – that help us deliver even more benefits to our customers and stay at the forefront of the industry. Ler Chun Hsin, our ever-dependable Sales Engineering Manager, shares his perspectives.

    1. How long have you been with Denyo and what is your impression of Denyo so far?

It has been close to three (3) years since I’ve joined Denyo. This is an organisation that recognises talent and effort, and does not hesitate to encourage creative output despite being in a rather traditional industry with many deep-rooted conventions.

Also, it never ceases to amaze me that Denyo products have consistently maintained the highest level of quality, reliability and durability throughout the decades, despite the emergence of new players in the market.

The sense of pride in knowing that the robust design of our products is well regarded both locally and internationally definitely rubs off on me.

    2. Why did you join Denyo?

Denyo was setting up a new department to engineer new solutions in the middle of 2016 when I first got in touch with the company.

After meeting the Denyo management team, I was impressed by the new, bold and ambitious plans that the company has mapped out for the future and the objectives that it is trying to accomplish. These goals are at the same time challenging yet exciting and the Denyo management has high expectations of making it a success.

I believe that such opportunities don’t come often and easily. With assurance and commitment of support from the management, I decided to take up the challenge and joined the company to spearhead the new department, and have not looked back since.

    3. What excites you about your role in Denyo?

Working on Denyo technology opened my eyes to many new things and the need to engineer new solutions – especially with the integration of digital technology and Internet of Things (IoT) – also propelled me to broaden my knowledge of technology as a whole. It made me realise that everything can be connected to unlock more productivity and efficiency, as well as business intelligence and insights previously thought not possible.

It was of course challenging, particularly with having to uplift the current technology to the next level while at the same time maintaining the existing high product quality and operational standards that customers and users have come to know Denyo for.

Nevertheless, the daunting tasks have not dented the excitement and enthusiasm I carry towards the work at all.

    4. What impresses you most about Denyo?

What impresses me the most is the utmost devotion that Denyo gives to delivering and upholding promises made.

Where in other companies, product and service satisfaction could be just a nice sounding marketing catchphrase, Denyo truly means it when we say that we will deliver the most optimal power solutions for our customers. Whether is it that extra few rounds of testing to make sure nothing goes wrong, or an overseas trip to the project site to be on standby in support of the customer, Denyo always goes the extra mile to ensure the best results are delivered.

The same high bar is demanded of the new products that we develop, and I am extremely proud of the fact that we have achieved zero failure with all our recently launched solutions.

    5. What has been most memorable so far?

I was previously involved in getting Denyo generators up and ready to support a large-scale concert in Hong Kong for Mayday – one of the most popular and influential rock bands in the Mandarin pop music scene.

Over three (3) consecutive nights on two (2) weekends, Denyo generators kept up the power demand of the music extravaganza while the band predictably brought the house down on every single night of the entire concert tour. The excitement, shouting and adrenaline rush of the adoring fans and cheering crowd are truly palpable.

It was beyond my wildest imagination to be involved in such a world-class event. Being right in the middle of such an electrifying atmosphere makes me appreciate even more of the fact that Denyo not only helps deliver business benefits to our customers, but can also bring about emotional impact from which great memories are created.

    6. What Denyo products/models do you personally like best? And why?

It is really hard for me to point to a particular product or model that I like best, because they are all equally good!

I think ultimately what I like best is the technology that is built into each Denyo equipment as well as the quality assurance mentality that is imbued into each step of the entire production process.

At Denyo, every generator is thoughtfully designed and manufactured under watchful considerations and monitoring. Once the product is produced, it undergoes a series of stringent tests to ensure that all required standards are met.

We really go the distance to ensure that our products come as close to perfection as possible. And then we go back to the drawing board right after to try and make them better.

    7. What do you envision the future holds for you in Denyo?

I’m currently working on a few projects that would introduce more digital capabilities and big data analytics into our integrated power solutions, which are designed to give even more control and insights to our users over their Denyo generators. As a leading generator brand, it is important that we are always ahead of the curve and challenging current operational norms with new concepts and innovations.

I am honoured and humbled that the management has put its faith and trust in me to take the lead in engineering new solutions. It has been an exciting two and a half years at Denyo, but I believe the best is yet to come and I am ever ready to give my best to show the world what Denyo can offer.
