The Challenge
Singapore’s government has advocated the importance of workplace safety, and at the top of the list for most should be a comprehensive Fire Protection System. The challenge arose when a customer of THK Engineering requested alterations and add-ons to the existing automatic fire sprinkler system. During the project, THK Engineering had to rework the piping and wiring that were intertwined with the standby generator before commencing the installation. The final test was to verify whether the generator could operate as usual to supply power, allowing the customer to continue their operations in the event of a power failure. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned when the generator failed to start due to mains failure. After multiple failed attempts at fixing it, THK Engineering decided to look for third-party companies that could solve their problem.
The Denyo Solution & Results
In the search for a solution, THK Engineering approached Denyo for a discussion. After assessing the entire situation, the proposed solution from the Denyo engineering team was to incorporate the Denyo SmartAMF Technology into the existing power generator and conduct a step-by-step configuration procedure with the assistance of a Denyo engineer.
After Denyo made a comprehensive remote configuration, the standby generator paired with the Denyo SmartAMF System could ideally start up loads without failure at the time of handover. To provide peace of mind, Denyo continues to offer full after-sales support to THK Engineering following the completion of the project, which was well-received, and both companies remain in close contact to date.
