The Challenge

The 2019 SEA Games, the 30th iteration of the biennial regional multi-sport event, is the biggest yet, conducting 530 events in 56 sports across 23 cities in Luzon, the largest and most populous island in the Philippines.

For a successful event to happen, the logistics, i.e., audio, video, lighting, LED, and temporary power equipment, play a crucial role in the event. However, given the scale of the SEA Games, it would pose a problem for most local companies. As such, the contract was awarded to the recognised leader and most competent integrator in the Philippines for this gigantic task: Amigo Entertainment Technologies Inc.

Meeting expectations for such a significant project is no mean feat, and fulfilling total integration would entail involving their long-time power solution partner, as well as the most reputable Denyo generator provider in the country, Hastings Motor Corporation.

However, what comes next is the big challenge of satisfying the organisers’ continuous demand for the swift and urgent delivery of the audio and lighting systems, supplemented by a total of 150 sets of Denyo silent generators, with outputs ranging from 25kVA to 800kVA, fully installed in 46 sports venues around the country.

The Denyo Solution

The time frame was tight for the numbers. Hastings Motor Corporation immediately approached Denyo United Machinery, Denyo’s regional centre in Singapore, for the provision of additional units required.

However, due to the immense number of silent generators required, Denyo Singapore strategically utilised Denyo dealers across the Asia Pacific region to assemble the necessary models and swiftly ship the orders to Hastings Motor Corporation in the shortest possible time. After receiving the orders, both companies coordinated and followed through on the delivery, installation and operation from one site to another before the promised deadline.

Results

Even under the intense scrutiny from the organisers and public eyes, Amigo Entertainment Technologies Inc. and Hastings Motor Corporation have exceeded every expectation from the development stages to the final realisation of this project.

With 500 million viewers worldwide, the 30th Southeast Asian Games performed and responded successfully with absolutely no downtime during the entire event. All 150 Denyo silent generators performed flawlessly, powering the audio, lighting and LED systems as the country’s finest battle for sports recognition and glory. The organizers were more than satisfied with the companies’ respective efficiencies, and Denyo generators once again proved to be the perfect mobile power source for all types of deployment.
